Star Entertainment Group has appointed Brooke Lindsay as a non-executive director, pending regulatory approval.
Lindsay will start as an observer to the board of directors until she is eligible to join the board when all prudential, regulatory and ministerial approvals have been received, the company confirmed.
Chairman Soo Kim welcomed the appointment, stating:
I would like to welcome Brooke to the Board and look forward to working with her to assist in delivering our strategic objectives and creating a sustainable future for The Star.
Lindsay has more than 20 years of experience in providing strategic advisory services to boards and senior executives around governance, regulatory strategy, international expansion and strategic investment in the global telecommunications and technology sectors; she previously held the position of Global Executive Legal and Compliance Officer for e& (formerly Etisalat) and led the global legal and compliance function of the company across numerous international markets.
Her experience consists of cross-border mergers and acquisitions, significant corporate investment and regulatory engagement within highly regulated industries.
Lindsay’s appointment follows a busy time for Star, including finalising the sale of its 50% stake in the Destination Brisbane Consortium to its Hong Kong partner, and securing a refinancing arrangement with Whitehawk Capital.
