The General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has granted an official gaming vendor license to Novomatic, positioning the company as one of the first international suppliers to gain access to the emerging market.
With this newly acquired Tier 1 licence, Novomatic is now authorised to supply its land-based gaming solutions to operators across the UAE. While the country’s gambling market remains in its infancy—currently limited to a regulated national lottery—the licence opens the door for Novomatic to provide products to major projects, including the ambitious Wynn Resort Al Marjan Island casino development.
This marks a significant step in the UAE’s gradual move towards regulated gambling. Notably, in October, Wynn Resorts became the first company to be awarded a UAE gaming licence by the GCGRA for its Ras Al Khaimah island project.

Novomatic’s announcement comes shortly after Aristocrat revealed in October that it had secured the first-ever gaming-related vendor licence from the GCGRA. Novomatic now joins an elite group of only three companies currently authorised to operate within the UAE’s tightly controlled gambling sector.
