Liberia has officially permitted prediction markets to be a part of its International Gaming License, a decision that regulators say will allow the nation to be on the same level as other global platforms.
The Liberia Online Gaming and Casino Commission, a division of the National Lottery Authority, has announced that prediction markets are fully licensed, regulated, and ready for further development.
Prediction markets allow the users to make bets instantly on things happening in the real world, like sports, politics, economics, and even the weather. Usually, participants go for Yes or No bets. Researches have shown that these markets are very good at forecasting because they combine data from polls, opinions from experts, and the latest news trends.
By including prediction markets in the International Gaming License, Liberia is providing the operators and suppliers with a definite set of compliance rules. The NLA has also highlighted that the regulatory framework of the country now meets international standards, hence licensed prediction markets are at par with Polymarket.
B2B and B2C operators get support with a wide range of tools
In addition, Liberia’s improved framework does not only concentrate on the licensing of prediction markets but also on the provision of support to both B2C and B2B operators.
