Flashscore – the world’s most popular live scores app – surpassed 100 million live audio plays in the first 11 months of 2025 in a record year for commentary consumption on the platform.
This year, more fans than ever tuned in to Flashscore’s audio commentary. Audio usage more than doubled compared with 2024 as fans turned to free, real-time commentary in the app.
Flashscore this year made changes to the user experience to help fans discover audio commentary in the app, including removing the need to register, improvements to the audio player and the addition of a prominent audio commentary icon.
Flashscore, with its team of more than 180 professional audio commentators, provides authentic, high-quality, and localised coverage in 12 languages. Since 2020 the platform has broadcast more 64,000 live commentaries, achieving more than 284 million total audio plays.
Champions League top choice for listeners
Flashscore’s top competition in 2025 was the UEFA Champions League, with 18.6 million audio plays. The English Premier League attracted 17.3 million unique plays, ahead of Spain’s La Liga (12.4 million), Brazil Serie A (8.8 million) and the FIFA Club World Cup (6.8 million).
In terms of individual matches, last season’s Champions League semi-final second leg between Inter and Barcelona was the most-listened to match of the year (and all time), with 1.1 million audio plays.
The Clasico between Barcelona and Real Madrid attracted more than 874,000 plays, ahead of the Madrid derby between Atletico and Real (652,756), the Nations League clash between Portugal and Spain (649,074) and this season’s Champions League fixture between Real Madrid and Arsenal (648,412).
