Tracking events in real time, ARK Invest has teamed up with Kalshi to explore how prediction markets might shape institutional investing. It seems hard to ignore how these markets aggregate diverse opinions into forecasts that can inform decisions.
They gather data on regulatory changes, industry trends, and company-specific metrics from the platform. The insights from those markets will be used directly when choosing which assets to include in portfolios. This approach allows institutions to see future possibilities before traditional signals catch up. Arguably, it offers a new way to anticipate risks without relying solely on historical patterns.
Why would ARK Invest use prediction markets if they don’t have strong central analysis? They will be using these markets as a supplement to their internal models, real-time input from thousands of participants. These markets reveal, for example, production figures and the dates of certain regulations, which in turn can provide ARK with insight as to the most probable next step. Besides, they will also be able to hedge against certain particular risks – such as a technological failure or a change in economic policy – which could potentially destabilize their portfolios.
Some markets on Kalshi are already “live” – nonfarm productivity, the U S Deficit-to-GDP ratio. This indicates that ARK is not stopping to wait until the data arrives. They are already observing it, and changing their research in line with the new circumstances.

For Kalshi, the ARK collaboration probably reflects another step to boost institutional adoption. The platform has worked with Tradeweb Markets and DriveWealth to improve access to event contracts, showing a consistent push to integrate prediction markets into traditional investment workflows – not just for retail users.
