The U.S. iGaming and daily fantasy sports sectors are moving closer to mainstream crypto adoption following a new partnership between Paysafe and MoonPay. The companies have launched “Pay with Crypto,” a solution that enables players to fund their gambling accounts using digital assets.
The integration is designed to simplify the conversion between cryptocurrencies and traditional fiat currencies, allowing for a smoother and faster payment experience.
The launch comes at a time when cryptocurrency ownership in the United States continues to grow. An estimated 70.4 million American adults now hold some form of digital assets. Paysafe’s internal research suggests that this trend is already influencing player behavior, with 83% of U.S. bettors expressing interest in using cryptocurrencies to fund their iGaming accounts.
In response, the new solution allows users to pay directly with assets such as Bitcoin and USD Coin, removing the need for manual conversions into fiat currency before placing bets.
According to Zak Cutler, the move reflects a broader shift in how consumers view digital assets. He noted that cryptocurrency is increasingly being used not just as an investment, but as a practical payment method, positioning operators to better align with evolving user preferences.
Ivan Soto-Wright echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that blockchain-based payments can offer greater efficiency compared to traditional systems. He added that users should be able to spend digital assets seamlessly, without needing to convert them manually.
MoonPay’s regulatory framework, including licenses such as the New York BitLicense, is expected to provide a compliant foundation for the service in the U.S. market.
Speed and convenience remain critical factors in the iGaming industry. By combining their technologies, Paysafe and MoonPay aim to deliver a more streamlined payment experience, giving operators and players greater flexibility in how funds are transferred and used.
