Sportradar announced a few days ago that it has renewed the partnership with Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN), which is the premier basketball league of Puerto Rico. Based on the new agreement, the company will continue to be the only provider of sports betting and gaming data to BSN games, and it will also be the holder of the audiovisual rights.
According to Sportradar, basketball is considered as the sport that generates the biggest betting volume in Puerto Rico. This renewal of the partnership will enable the introduction of new reliable technologies and data, along with strengthened integrity measures, to help the league update its operations.
The updated contract includes several new things that are intended to help the overall growth of basketball in the island. Sportradar were handed the non-exclusive rights that would permit them to start talent development and scouting programmes, so it is a step towards a broader perspective that is well beyond just providing statistics.
This expanded partnership is not only a sporting development but also the exploration of commercial potential of the league.
Under the new contract, one of the main components is the deployment of Sportradar’s integrity services, which among others features the Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS AI).
The system is constantly monitoring the betting markets to find any unusual betting activities. By utilizing this technology, BSN will be empowered to play a firm role in the protection of sports integrity and match with the international standards of the industry.
Moreover, due to this modification, the league could tap into more of Sportradar’s various performance and management tools. Synergy Stats and the Competition Management Platform are a few of them and are expected to bring about improved decision-making for teams and league officials as a result of changed and efficient operations.
