Spribe has received a temporary injunction from Malta against three companies belonging to Aviator Studio for alleged violation of its EU trademarks. The injunction prohibits the use of an identical brand, and prevents the misuse of the domain aviator.studio and other related domains.
The injunction constitutes Aviator Studio Limited, Aviator Studio Holding Limited, Aviator Studio USA Limited, and other companies that need to stop using signs that are similar to Spribe’s registered EU trademarks.
This injunction is based on use of two distinct trademarks owned by Spribe including one figurative trademark with the word “Aviator” and an airplane depicted in it.
Additionally, the court also considered the market listings. In their search for “Aviator”, users were able to see the two games at the same time on Betsson and EuroCasino.
Recently, Aviator Studio Limited got a B2B licence from the Malta Gaming Authority. This license enables the company to expand game distribution in Malta and other parts of EU.

The injunction is temporary and companies may appeal. Spribe must also begin proceedings leading to a decision on the merits within 31 calendar days of the 1 September order.
